Hello,

I amm looking for a little input on the Devcon. Have never attended one, and can't this year, but was wondering if it is worth it to maybe splurge and get the Conference materials only that advisor offers?

Thanks,
rabbit75

Rabbit,

My personal opinion: DevCon is good, but WhilFest is better.

DevCon is big, very professionally organised, and expensive. WhilFest (aka GLGSDW, organised by Hentzenwerke) is much smaller and friendlier, and less expensive. But they are both worth visiting, at least once.

Rabbit75,
I've been to 11 of the 13 "official" FoxPro DevCons, and I agree with Mike that they are "big, very professionally organized, and expensive". These conferences as well as WhilFest in Milwaukee, Essential Fox in Kansas City, DevTeach in Montreal, OzFox in Sydney, VFP Konferenz in Frankfurt and others are all worth what you put into them.

It's important to meet and exchange ideas with as many speakers and other attendees as you can - the conference sessions are just one aspect of the whole experience. Sometimes it's not "how much does it cost" as "how much will I loose" by missing one of these events. Besides it's always interesting to put faces on names you run into on the various support forums. :)
