Long shot but here goes anyway.....

I recently aquired a Deutsche Telekon Eumex 322PCi mini ISDN PABX. It is similar to what BT (UK) used to provide with the ISDN Home Highway package. It has 2 ISDN BRI interfaces that support MSN, 2 analogue ports pre-configured for an answer machine and a Fax and an ISDN interface to connect to a Public ISDN line. You can dial between all the internal ports using preconfigured numbers (11-17 ISDN port 1, 21-27 ISDN port 2, 19 Analogue port 1, 29 Analogue port 2). It is quite good for testing ISDN routers etc.

Anyway, I have done some searching and have found a German User Guide and the configuration software but I don't have the correct cable to connect the PC to the serial port on the PABX. The manual is little help.

Does anyone have any documentation on this product or know what the Serial Cable pinouts are so I can hook up my PC and reconfigure it. I just need to change the 2nd Analogue port to allow incoming calls as currently it doesn't.

Thanks

Andy

After a bit more searching and trial and error I managed to make up a cable and got the application working. If anyone is interested the cable spec is below.

Line----Eumex RJ45--PC 9-way-D
-RxD ------- 2 --------- 5
-TxD --------3 --------- 1
-DTR --------4 --------- 3
-GND --------5 --------- 8
-RTS ------- 7 --------- 7
-CTS ------- 8 --------- 4

There are a few of these on eBay pretty cheap so if anyone is playing around with Cisco CallManager these are quite good as they support CLI etc.

Sounds like a cool box to play with. I assume it probably support Euro-ISDN only (e.g. no US National-ISDN protocols)?

The Siemens Officepoint (not the 150e officepoint but the standalone office point) is a similar box that often goes for cheap on ebay.

Sadly the officepoint only has one user side ISDN (S0) port so it it can't be used as a ISDN emulator (well it can with two units sharing the S interface, but in this mode you don't get to play with any of the multi-channel stuff on your cisco gear).

Have fun

Its Euro ISDN only. It has 2 internal user ISDN lines, 2 internal analogue lines a PC interface that can be used as an ISDN Terminal Adapter and an External ISDN interface for connecting to a public ISDN line. There is also another serial interface to connect a PC or printer for billing info.
