Filemaker Pro reports that a database file cannot be opened by a user because another user has the file in use. The file resides on a Novell server.

Is there any method in Novell (5.1) that can be used to determine all users
1) connected to a server?
2) connected to / using a specific file?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

You can load Monitor at the server console, press enter at connections, highlight the user desired and see what file is in use by that user.

Cheers,

Mark ;-)

Check out a utility called WhoHasIt, it will tell you which user has a file open without having to access the console. You can download a trial version from a single license will cost you $25 (US). The latest version is 2.6, I've been using 2.5 for quite awhile and found it very useful.
