I have looked at faq68-582, which is essentially KB 294686, and I can make it work without too much difficulty.
However, does anyone know a simple (and hopefully elegant!) way to determine the sort order of the list (i.e. so I get something other than just the alphabetical order of the categories)?
Background: I am trying to list names, addresses and telephone numbers by departments within my organisation. The original data is being sucked from a database I have little control over. I would prefer to have the Managing Director's "department" listed first, with people's names in alphabetical order, followed by the "Sales" department etc, etc. In other words, I need a list ordered by importance. At the moment "Admin" is always first and "Sales" is always last, which pleases Admin but nobody else!
