determining file use

I am on a quest to discover the use of every WINDOWS98 file on my computer. Is there a guide that states what a file does?

This all started as a desire to kill spam. I decided to do a text seach for my email address. I was amazed at the number of windows files besides the *.pst files that have your email in easy to capture form.

If anybody knows what the following files do, please reply:
details.oab
rdndex.oab
(name).pab <-?personal address book for outlook?

Hi mate,

The .oab extension stands for &quot;offline address book&quot;.

I am not sure about the .pab but I`m pretty sure that it is something to do with outlook. You could be right with that one..

Yes, .pab is a Personal Address Book file that Outlook uses.
