In field explorer I often right click a field in a table and use "browse data" to see what is there. However I can't find a way to determine the data type of a particular field, i.e. string, number, datetime, etc.

I have looked in help and searched the FAQ and posts here at Tek Tips, but have not found the answer. Can someone tell me how to determine data type of a field from within Crystal?

Thanks!

In field explorer right click on databse fields and select show field types. Then if you expand one of your tables you will see the data type out to the right

Right click In DataExplorer

Check show data type

This will show data type along side field in the data explorer.

When you browse a field, it identifies the datatype above where the field instances are shown.
