I am running Acess 2K under XP Pro.
On the LAN there are 10 users with Front Ends linked to Back End on Server.
I wish to determine which users have a DB open.

You can get some information by looking at the Backend.LDB in notepad.

Marty Wasznicky of the Baarns Consulting Group wrote in 1998 a neat routine to decode the ldb file and display current users and machines on an Access form. The application consists of a form and two modules. Perhaps you can find it by searching around on the web. I've used it and it performs wonderfully well.

Have a look at for the method I use. I use the file they give and have also built it into applications of my own.
