Excel 2007
I am using vb scripts to collect live data from a production unit. The information is then formatted into variables and scripts for a specific simulation program. I then call the simulation program to run an optimization case and return the optimized plant parameters. The optimized parameters are then pushed back out to the production unit.
So my question is: How can I determine when an outside program is completed? Can I set up an outside variable and pass the variable address?

Well, You can try banging your head against the wall, but you just end up with lost-time injuries and damaged equipment. [M. Passman]
