I'd be extremely grateful if anyone has an answer to this. What I would like is to determine on which tape a particular file within an image resides. I'm looking for a way to do this without having to actually put a tape in a drive and scan its contents.
I know that I can use the bpflist command to get a listing of the files in a particular backup image. And I know that I can get the volumes on which that backup image resides by looking at the fragments in the bpimagelist output (or in the image file itself).
The question thus becomes: How can I determine which fragment a particular file is in? If I could do that, then I could cross reference the bpflist output with the bpimagelist output and achieve my goal.
Is there any way I can do what I'm seeking to do?
Thanks!
