determine currently highlighted row in combo box

Senario - on a datasheet-form the combo box is open, nothing is selected, one can see x-amount of rows, as the mouse moves a cursor is highlighting the row the mouse is pointing at (black) is there a way to:

1. Find out where the cursor is in the combo box.
2. Retrive the information from this row.

I have had a look at Stephen Lebans solution, however this only works i a form, but not is the form is shown as a datasheet.

Don't use datasheet view ...
