Detecting when the refresh button is pressed on the browser?

I have an application that can have mulitple windows open. I want to detect whether the last window is open, and show a message to the user if he closes it. The problem is that I want to detect whether the user presses the refresh button on the browser (IE,NN), and/or accesses a page from their favorites list. Any suggestions.
