Detecting screen resolution

Is their a way to detect screen resolution, to help make the site look better on all computers.

IE Its changing font sizes to the screen resolution.

You can "fix" IE changing font sizes by specifying your font size in pixels (px). I quoted the phrase "fix" because it's terribly bad practice and harms the accessibility of your page.

I take it you haven't tested resizing the text in FF (for instance)
