Hi,
I formatted a hard drive, and now when I am installing Win95, and I reboot and it is detecting new hardware, it goes on forever. I shut it down and go into safe mode and look at the device manager to find it has installed the graphic card over and over. I have delete this and tried to install manually and when I reboot, it will install it over and over again. Do you know what could be wrong? Thanks in advance

What graphic adapter is it installing and which graphic adapter do you have?
Also, what version of Windows 95 are you installing, 95A, OSR1, OSR2.x?

When the install seems to hang, shut the machine off and restart. Win95 Setup should avoid detecting the piece that was giving it trouble, and go on with the detection.

Also, when you go into safe mode to delete the video drivers, delete ALL the video drivers. Then it will install only one. IF you leave a driver in, you will continue to have the problem.

Mary :)

Also, at least with other hardware detectino issues I've had (not specific to Video), after you delete ALL the video drivers, delete ALL the COM ports too (it wouldn't hurt to delete the LPT port as well).

Reboot and in many situations, this has helped me out big time!
