Detecting Mouse move

Is there any way I could detect the mouse moving at ANY time across a webpage?

Everyone has flash mouse cursor things but when you move off the swf, the stupid cursor will stay there...I need to have my flash movie check a javascript variable or SOMETHING...is there any script to tell if the mouse is moving on the webpage? Regards,
