Detecting existence of window?

Hi,

I am trying to prevent users from having multiple versions of the Java app up at once. Is there a way to detect if the app is already up? Is there a way to detect the existence of other application windows?

For java applications to start only once : Use the "Singleton Pattern" : Do a search on google with "java singleton" and you will get a couple of links.

For your second question you can have a look at Thread269-641542 , although it won't be of real help.
