What is a good way or command to use that shows that Fedora 2 detects my second CPU?

Thanks.

thanks for the response. I did load the smp kernel. On boot up my PC shows 2 processors but when the system is up and running and I do a "top" command I don't see anything that shows 2 cpu's. I'm using the 2.6.8-l.521smp kernel.

I'm kinda new with Linux. Been using BSD for a while and thought I would give Linux a try. I don't even know what directory the kernel file is located in.

how about "cat /proc/cpuinfo" or something to that effect... the /proc/ area is a treasure trove of configuration info...

The "top" command's first few lines will show CPU utilization per CPU. If you don't see that then your "top" is different from the ones I've used on RedHat and Debian.

Great. That command is something I was looking for. Thank you. That actually does show CPU0 and CPU1. On FreeBSD when you do a "top" command it shows the the CPU your process is running on so I was looking for something like that.

On Fedora there is a system monitor icon that I clicked on and it shows the CPU History. But for some reason it only show it for CPU1. Shouldn't it be showing both CPU's?

I couldn't find any. That's ok though. Thanks for your help.
