I have a FastT ds4000 (Fibre channel) Conected directly with an IBM OPENPOWER running Suse Linux Enterprise Server 9. The system is working, recently I have added a new LUN using storage manager(new logical drive), the creation of a new LUN was suscefully.
But I have a problem Linux is not able to see the new LUN. I am sure that if I restart the system, Linux will detect new LUN, but I have a problem the system can´t be restarted because it´s a mission critical system. is there any command or procedure to detect the new LUN while the system is up?

Try /bin/rescan-scsi-bus.sh

If it works you'll see a new entry in /proc/scsi/scsi for the new device.

Hope it helps.
