At any change in a field how do get a detail record to be created automatically. I know you can create a history record of the log change but I wonder if you can also log the change in the detail tab?

You can't do it in a real-time manner unless you use an SQL database and leverage an MSSQL trigger.

You could do it using a GoldMine Automated process, but then you'd need to 1. create the process and 2. periodically scan automated processes.

When I create the A/P and then I tell it to perform the action of Create a detail what do I type on the detail tab a Dbase expression? or just the field name?

whatever kind of detail you wish to create. If you have no special needs, leave the dbase expression blank.

You really want to use SQL Triggers it you want true auditing.
