I have created a report that has 4 subforms. The report is grouping/breaking on Client and Account id. The 4 subforms are located in the Detail area.

The problem is the page hdr and the account hdr are printing on the first page and the detail is printing on subsequent pages. It only happens when the client has a large amount of data under one category (category is not sorted on or a break field). I tried setting 'Keep Together'=NO, and increasing the page setting to .05. The report is already set to landscape.

Is there any way to get some of the detail lines to print on the first page with the hdrs?

Thanks so much

Have a look at the Force New Page and Keep Together settings on both the group header and the group footer.

If you don't have a group footer, switch this on via the Sorting and Grouping option, and add a test message to it, so you can see what is happening as the report runs.

I have found that changing these options, on both header and footer, can fix (and sometimes create!) the report layout problems which you describe.

Watch out for the Force New Page options - try 'Before Section' and 'After Section' as they do not always behave as you would expect.

Thank you so much Rod for responding. I tried several combinations and NADA!

Since this only happens in rare occasions they may have to live with it.

Thanx again,
Be well,
