We need to take workstation backup of DOS and Windows 2000 machines through SBackup on Tape.

While installing the client software for win 2000 we were able to load TSA for win2000 also. How to load the same for DOS machines?

Also is there any module to be loaded on the server ?Is it necessary to log in at the concerned workstation for taking backup ?

Thanks In Advance

Been a while since I done this. I believe the module you need to run on the DOS system is TSADOS. I think you can install this as an option component in the client software. When running Sbackup you should be able to connect to targets "Change target to backup restore from" and the workstation clients should appear in the list. From memory when you specify the user and password in sbackup you will connect to the client using those values. Since DOS is insecure anyhow I can't see why it wouldn't work. With 2k you may need a local user that matches the novell account you are going to be using for the backup. (might be worth making the user a backup operator or something like that to give them neccessary rights to the 2k file system.

Hope this helps. As I say I have not done it for ages!
