I have a table I need to detach from a database so that I can zip it up and email it (I've already copied it from a "live" table into a dummy database just in case).
I can't find any documentation on how to accomplish this, nor has anything I've tried worked (copy and paste, export). It's probably very simple, I've just never had to do it before. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

You can't detach a table from a database - what you could do (depending on the number of rows) is export it to an excel / csv / text file and zip and mail that.

Would that work for you?

Cheers,

M.

The person to whom I'm supposed to send this says it's possible, but it's tech support, so who knows?

I've exported to Excel, they'll have to be happy with that. Thanks!

Hi mate,

you can detach the database. if they can tell you how to detach a table, let me know because that's a very interesting statement from them!

Good luck,

M.

I copied the table to a new blank database, detached the database, zipped that up, and sent it. The issue was the support person didn't proofread their instructions closely enough, and I don't know enough about SQL to have picked up on the mistakes until later on... a little bad syntax goes a long way. He he he....nice one. Support desks are wonderful at times.....:)
