I am trying to detach a MS SQL DB and for some odd reason that option is grayed out. I have never seen this before. Does anybody have a solution to why?

Thanks

Which database? Is it a user database or a system database?

It's either a permissions issue or a system db issue. You can't detach the system dbs. You have to use the Alter Database command if you want to move the files, for all but the Master DB, and the Master DB you have to do something funky with to move.

If you're trying to do something else with the system dbs other than move the files, you're out of luck. Sorry.
