We are using BO XI and are sending a file via FTP. The person who is receiving the file would like a naming convention of source_pos_yyyymmdd.txt where yyyymmdd is the current date - 1 or - 3 if the day the report is run is a Monday. Note, the data in the report has the same date criteria.

Is it possible to be that specific the with naming convention or do we have to tell the programmer this is not possible?

Thanks

The 6 standard filename variables that are supported are:

%EXT% - File Extension
%SI_NAME% - Object name
%SI_ID% - Report ID
%SI_STARTTIME% - Start Date and Time
%SI_USERFULLNAME% - BOE User Name
%SI_EMAIL_ADDRESS% - BOE User's email address

I also need to edit the standard Start Date and Time file extension variable %SI_STARTTIME% - to add only the date to the file name. Has anyone figured out how to do that?

Thanks,

I don't know how to do that in CE, but there's at least one 3rd-party Report Manager (see list at that gives you full flexibility in naming the export file path and name using any mixture of static text and field/formula values from the report itself. For example:
c:\temp\{Rep_Name} Sales From {@From_Date} to {@To_Date}.pdf

- Ido

view, e-mail, export, burst, distribute, and schedule Crystal Reports.
