OK I have a CICS w/4.2 software the DN length is 2 and it wont let me build a destination code. If I enter any number 1 thru 9 (except 2) it will not let me do a thing. On 2 it will let me do a any But the DN start off at 21. Trying to set up external call forward. Confused

You can do 2 any it will not affect your DN's that are in use. But any number that you try to forward to that matches an extension will go to the ext. (for example 221xxx). If you are not using call park you can free up the 1 or go to 3 digit extensions.

Are you using the other digits for access to other services? I think I can remember doing a CICS 4.2/ 2 digit ext. with either 61X or 41X dest codes.

I checked the records...The codes I used on that system were definitely 6XX codes. Are you using 6 for something else like a pool? Everything else is used by default.

I agree with Hawks. you should go to 3 digit extensions, as it
will give you more flexibity with codes and numbers in your CICS programming.

I would just be careful if you have voicemail, as you will need to revise (reinstall) the voicemail under a 3-digit DN unit, not a 2-digit DN unit.

Good Luck
