i have a system that doesn't use a 3XX. I want to use 3 as destination code to dial to my BCM50 over VoIP gateways. When i try and set the 3 as a destination code i get invalid entry. Can someone explain to me why this is and how i can fix it?

TIA

Have you checked to see if 3 is being used as an access code for a line pool?

BCM 400 3.7

3 is not being used as line pool access code.

If it's not an access code, do you have any DN's (voicemail, hunt groups, other inactive DN's) that start with 3? Do you have any target line received digits that begin with 3?

i might have acouple dns that have 3 in it. i assume removing all 3 as lead digits will allow for 3 to work as a destination code?

That's correct. Renumber those DN's and you should be all set.

If you have extensions that can't be renumbered for whatever reason, you can break out your destination codes. If VM is 312, you could build a destination code of 31A and unassign 2 as a wildcard, etc.

i'll give'r a shot.. Thanks.
