I have a good one...on a CICS/7.0 with PRI, when the system is shutdown (due to power outtage) the systems clears the destination codes, everything else comes up fine.

I reprogrammed the destination codes...9 any, route 1, absorb=01 and everything worked, customer can make calls (which was the initial problem). I powered the equipment down/up and it cleared again! Is this a problem with the software? Any help is appreciated.

What is the RLS of the NVRAM because if it is RLS 1 that will happen.

The release on our NVRAM is Rls 2. The problem also occured when they were at 4.1.

i'm just nitpicking
1. CICS cannot have a PRI - is it a BRI?
2. Can you recreate the problem? that is if you pull the plug manually does it lose the dest codes?

If you have PRI then you will have a MICS. This was probably a typo.

Yes, it is a MICS...NVRAM is release 1. The problem reoccurs when unplugged. I am going to install a FastRad so I can back up the programming and install a new software cartridge. Thanks for all the input!

If you have a MICS 7.0 with a Rls.1 that is not what you want. Nortel recommends a Rls 2 NVRAM for the 7.0.

DigitelD, I agree with the MICS 7.0 needing a Rls 2 NVRAM. You say yours WAS a MICS 4.1 and upgrading to 7.0 didn't help? I ask because we have a (customer's) MICS 4.1 doing the same thing, lose power, lose dest codes and we are considering an upgrade. Making me think that may not be the answer.

dueE check the RLS of the NVRAM, RLS1 will cause this issue. What happened is before there was any known issues people would upgrade from 4.0 to 4.1 and they would use the existing 4.0 NVRAM which was RLS 1. That is why there are still systems out there running as high as 6.1 with the old RAM cart.

DueE, The customer had a MICS 4.1 and everytime they lost power, part of routing had to be reprogrammed. We upgraded them to 7.0 and had a problem that we fixed. They have not complained yet about losing anything when the power goes out. Time will tell on this one. But yes, I would recommend an upgrade to 7.0.
