Hey guys

I'm testing Presentation Server 4.0 here and considering upgrading from XP.

Once major problem i see so far is that all the published applications are kept in the "published apps" folder on the desktop. Can't each single published app icon appear on the desktop anymore??

I'm using the PNAgent of course, and i've used the access console to configure the "manage application shortcuts" and i've tried just about every veriation in there possible.

Is this something that can't be done anymore? All i want is for the published apps the user is entitled to, to display on the desktop like the did in Metaframe XP.

thanks guys!

the reason is that when you publish your application, you must have name your program neiborghood folder which in turn put that application in that folder. Other than that your application should not be in a folder.

Is anyone using presentation server 4 and are able to get the desktop shortcuts (published applications) to show up on the desktop?

I can get them in the start menu, thats great, but I'm trying to get the applications to display on the desktop. AND NOT IN A 'MY PROGRAM NEIGHBORHOOD' FOLDER!! Just like Metaframe XP, all the apps were easily placed on the dektop. I'v recreated my sites numerous times, and tried every combonation of settings in the config.xml and publshed apps properties.

Thanks for any help..

snootalope,
Have you configured your program neighborhood agent on the web interface page?
You can force the pn agent to place shortcuts on the desktop here.
Or you can allow your users to customize the settings.

Just go to your web interface server and type this in your IE browser:

There is an option for "Applicaiton Display" at the bottom and there are a bunch of configuration items you can do.

That should do it.
But also double-check your published applicaitons are not setup to go to the "My Program Neighborhood Folder".

Hope that helps.

Thanks enigma99, but that just throws me a 404. Looks like the pnagentadmin doesn't even exsist on here.

Viewing my IIS and subdirectories, i have a citrix folder of course and only Metaframe and PNAgent under that.. neiter of them have anything that says pnagentadmin in there. ???

Ah, pnagentadmin has been replaced by Access Suite Concole in 4.0. Maybe I should take a look at presentation server 3!??! I seriously dont think this is possible (the icons on the desktop) in 4.0.

Log into the Web Interface server and look under Programs-Citrix-Managment Consoles.
You should see the regular WIAdmin console but there should also be a PNAdmin console.

If not, try doing a repair on the install for Web Interface and see if there is an option to install that in there.

I know 4.0 also has an option within the Access Suite but I can't remember exactly where it is.

Hope that helps.
