Gents,

Please excuse a few stupid questions.

We are migrating a desktop application written in VB script to a Citrix platform, the vendors tell us it wont work on a citrix architecture, Can someone tell a management dummt like me if its broadly possible to install it in such a way that it will work under Citrx? Someone recently tols me it should be no big deal to configure a vb app to work under Citrix, ist this true, and secondly will the VB need to be re-writtien ??

Thanks chaps

We were running a visual basic application in a citrix environment for about 4-5 years, without any problem. Now, the same application suite is converted to .NET and still runs without any known problem. I guess compatibility issues will depend on the application itself and how it is written, not by the platform it is written on.

The best way to find it out yourself, is to set up a small test environment (vmware?). All you need is one vmware machine. Install windows 2000/2003 on it. Make yourself a citrix farm that consist of this one server, install the vb application. Try to publish it to a test user (or a group of test users) and then try to run it from the ica clients on your users desktops.
