I have a customer using Desktop Messaging, when he is at
work it works fine but as soon as he try from the hotel,
outlook just hang there.Looks like Desktop Messaging try to connect to the CallPilot but can't. If he uninstall Desktop Messaging then outlook will work fine. Is there any port to open for Desktop Messaging?

smtp or pop difference?

I'm not sure i understand your question..
I just reply to your other thread.

rylsfan thread about Bcm50 rel 2.0.

is your IP from the VPN trying to access what is set as your in-house UM? Meaning when trying to use UM from the VPN, your machine is using the VPN IP rather than the IP that works correctly at his desk?

192.168.1.25 desk IP
192.168.1.99 is VPN IP

am i making sense?

Thanks rylsfan, i know what you mean, i'll verify it on
Monday.

We're you able to access your bcm50?

Port 143 (IMAP) is used to pull down messages to the client. Do you have the IP address specified in the client, or the name of the BCM? If it's the name, make sure it's reachable via hostname from the VPN connection. Might need an entry in your DNS server for that to work. Or, just enter the IP of the BCM in the client and try that.

Biv343, i'm using the ip adress of the bcm on the client pc.
It works good when he is at work but not when he is using his VPN from the hotel.

has anyone made headway with this, I am having the same issue, we have a site to site vpn and GVC clients connected from home, using sonicwall, enhanced OS, this worked when in Standard mode, it does not seem to be blocked, some thing is wrong, I can Ping every thing on both sides except the Nortel BCM i have check the gateway and the next hop the are both the gateway address.. any thoughts...
