Desktop Icons keep moving to different locations

Every once in a while, my Windows 2000 desktop icons move to a new location on the desktop. I haven't changed anything, or added any new software. I'm not the only one either, I have 3 other users that I know about who are having the same problem. We are running W2KPro, some with SP2 and some with SP3.
Does anyone know why this is happening?

if you would go to control panel , folder options, under the view tap, scroll down, put a check mark at remember foler settings,

also when you right click on on your desktop, put a check mark under "auto arrange," maybe with 2 combination, that might work,

Not that it is but could be spyware try downloading and runing Ad-Aware see if it finds anything. You would be surprised what is spyware and just what it can do to your PC.

I use a customised version of a freeware utility called Iconid [www.sillyware.com] to remember icon positions, as I frequently need to change screen resolution, and it was annoying the heck out of me re-positioning all my icons every time.
