By default, desktop icons have a background that is the same as the desktop color (single color only). The problem is if you place wallpaper on the desktop. At that point the icons still only recognize the background single color.<br>

You end up with large squares of color that don't match. I've tried matching the color as closely as possible, but the background is textured over the entire desktop and I have found no way to texture the icon background from the Appearance tab of Display Properities.<br>

Is there a way to make desktop icon backgrounds transparent to allow the color and texture of the wallpaper to be seen ?
