Hi,
I want to develop a small database application that will have a few database tables, 1 or 2 data entry forms, and some type of report output- maybe 3 or 4 reports of whatever type of format.
The project would sit on 1 desktop computer without access to the Internet.
I typically do this in Microsoft Access, but was wondering if there are any other sets of technologies that are suited for this type of project (PHP & MYSQL? - but that would be web-based...?).

How do these other technologies stack up in terms of ease of development/deployment?

Thank you for any comments!

with php mysql you can install a web server just for that machine...(like easyphp or triad)...very simple to do...

you can also use myodbc and have the access instance link to the mysql db...

for small apps access does work well with not too many users concurrently... just depends what you feel most comfortable with...

access is nice because it does have all the reporting tools bundled in the application

I use Visual Basic to do something similar using MyOBDC or MyOLEDB to connect to the MySQL database.
