I've just installed Windows 2000, and for some reason my HP Deskjet 600C will not work properly now. It worked fine with Win95/98/ME. Here is what it does:

If you attempt to print something, the green light on the printer blinks (like is always did), but then nothing prints. The mechanincs of the printer don't even fire up. It's not mechanical, because it was JUST working. If anyone has any ideas, I would love it. HP doesn't have any drivers on its site either.

Did Win2000 detect the printer automatically when you first installed it, or did you install the Win2000 driver manually?

No, it didn't detect the printer automatically. I had to go install manually. Any ideas??

Has anyone else had this problem??? ------

Yes Win 2K is grreat if it finds the items.
It is very bad if it does not.

I would create a new printer to LPT1:
Pick Local, not network
and in the list is
HP DesignJet 600 (C2847A)
I just tried it right now

so you should be able to set it up.

I have the same problem as this, except that my printer is an HP LaserJet III. (Yes, I know, it's old, but it works great - well, on everything except Win2000.) Any ideas? Thanks! Give me liberty, or give me pizza...
