could you tell me of any websites that have a guide to building a database step by step as i am a beginner. also i want to find out how add features to the database such as passwords and mail merge etc

I recommend that you invest in a good book and spend a lot of time trying to memorize it. Websites generally do not contain anywhere near the amount of detail you will need to learn how to design databases properly using normalization, learn all the objects used in the database, learn all the functions, and then include the advanced features.
