Designing Storage and Aggregations

I have a cube with 29 shared and private dimensions. When I run the design storage wizard, I select MOLAP and move to the create aggregations screen. I select 40% performance improvement and hit start. The graph jumps to around 4% and 126 aggregations, then it slows to a crawl. I left it running on the server for 12 hours, and it had generated only 1000 aggregations with a performance improvement of 7%.

Does anyone know what would cause this process to be slow or move more quickly. Other cubes I have created get to a 50% performance improvement after only a few minutes.
