Designer not working

Hi

Iam new to Informatica.I got a problem in Informatica designer.Hope u can help me out with this issue.The thing is after installing Informatica Power mart 5.1 iam not able to see the navigator window in the Power mart designer.And one more thing is if we create a folder in Rep manager i guess by default we can see (sources,targets,transformations,mappings,dimensions,cubes) when we click on the folder after creating it(I am not sure).But iam not able to see anything only the version of the folder is being displayed.Server config and everthing works fine.What might be the problem?Please help me out.

try this:

rename the pmdesign.ini on your harddrive to: pmdesign.old
then restart designer.
This was a common problem with version 4.6, but maybe this will work with version 5 as well!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks a lot it is working now.I have been trying this for weeks.Anyway could you tell me why this will happen?

I was told by Informatica this is a bug with older versions. I must say, after upgrading to version 5.1.2 I have never experienced this problem anymore.
If you struggled with this for weeks you may mark this one as an helpful post (Never ask for this , but others may have the same problem with older INFA versions)
