I am having a strange problem. whenever I try to open an acces report in design view, the computer takes forever to load and if i click anywhere in the report while loading, it will even display not responded message, but if you leave it for a minute it will open. Not sure what to do next to be able to design reports on timly fastion. The database is split, I have a printer installed.....

Any suggestions?

Does the query that the report is based on take a long time to return data if you run the query itself? If so, you may need to consider making a table of the data from the query first, at least during the design phase of the report, then when the report is finalized you can change the data source back to the query. If the make table process is quicker then you could automate that so the data for report will be refreshed.

I have this problem when the report was developed on another PC and wants to use a printer that's not on my system. I change the printer to "default" in print preview.

Ever notice how fast Windows runs? Me neither.
