Hi. For some reason all of a sudden, the date/time data type is not working. I am creating a new table in design view. I type the field name ProjectDate, I pick Date/Time as the Data Type. I create a form based on the table and the date/time format is not captured.

Now I never use to have to use the input mask or format down below in the table design view grid. So I'm not sure what has happened. I am using WIN XP, Access 2003. Did a setting get unchecked somewhere behind the scenes or what?

Help! thanks.

Did you create the form after or before you created ProjectDate, or changed the data type to Date/Time?

Open the table in question in design view, and make sure to include a "Format" - I like "Medium Date".

Create a new form based on the table. Your date formatting should now work.

The only time I have ever seen a text box on a form not perform per formatting on the table is if the form was created before the field was created or formatting changed. For example, in haste, I create a table, then the form and note that I had not adjusted the formatting for the date field - I go back to the table design, change the formatting to suite my needs - the change is not noted in the form.
