Design-Time-Controls aren't working 1

I can't get any of the DTCs to function properly through InterDev. One example is my Grid will show the bottom navigation bars, but not the top portion of the grid to display the data. I know there's data from the bound data commmand. I do have Front Page on my 2K machine.

If you are using anything but .NET then don't even bother with the design-time controls. You're better off without them.

Thanks Sheco. I ended up going with populating the Input boxes on my own rather than using a Grid. I have a bit of work to do on my site, but I eventually just had to go that direction since many of the controls were more hassel than anything.
What route would you recommend for someone starting out on .NET? I was just thinking of going to WROX and getting one of their books first off. I've had a lot of good luck with their stuff.

Currently going the same route and I would highly recommend O'Reilly's Programming ASP.NET by Jesse Liberty and Dan Hurwitz (for ASP.NET, anyway). Have heard some not so nice things about Wrox recently, so have been going more with O'Reilly and haven't been disappointed.

Right on...thanks Chopstick! I'll check those books out! Have you guys tried CD training, or would you go through these books?

However you do it the hardest part is FORCING yourself to do it.

Well, I have to force myself anyway.... When I know how to do something in like 5 minutes with the old way it is hard for me to slog through the new stuff where I feel like an idiot and it takes forever.

Its a wonder that I ever learned to walk ... I could crawl pretty fast!
