Hi All

I have a business user that wants to look at pivot tables (since it is organized) and we have a comments field to the right, where the user can input comments to a particular field. The pivot table (its formatted but displays all the raw data) can be refreshed/filtered very quickly but the raw data takes almost a minute to filter which is why I do not want to edit comments there. (we are talking 5000-10000 lines and 30 columns here). Obviously, when I edit comments next to the pivot table and the pivot table refreshes, the comments stay in the same location. Is there a way, I can reference the comment to a record on the pivot table and it moves location based on a primary key? Thanks and appreciate your help.

Hi,

A Pivottable is a REPORT. Trying to use a REPORT as a data source is freplete with problems.

I'd recommend using a separate list, one key element(s) per comment. Then it's a simple lookup to associate the comment with the data in the PT however it is sorted.

I'd also put the comment to the LEFT of the PT to avoid the number of columns variability when the PT refreshes.
