design privileges

I have an application that is used for handling foster care and adoption records written in Lotus Approach 97. One of our offices is running this program in Approach Millenium(could be 2000 ?).

One of the functions is not working; the error that the user is getting is "Couldn't complete this operation because it requires design privileges." with OK and Help buttons. Without this function, the office will be unable to check their work for errors.

Any suggestions?

You are trying to do something that requires design privileges -- possibly switching to a report view in browse mode. If so, go to File, User setup, Approach Preferences. On the first page of the Preferences dialog box, uncheck the "Report Summaries" option. OK out of that and save the Approach file.
