I recently upgraded to a new version of manager (version 9.1.0.0 build 437) I used to print labels by clicking TOOLS, PRINT BUTTON LABELS from manager and a window would pop up allowing me to click the check box of labels to print including button modules and then from there you could just print them. It worked great but now the CSV format has changed and it does not work. I spoke with DESI tech support and they said that they upgraded their software and now manager software needs to be updated. In the meantime I can't print labels for 1416 phones without typing all the info into the DESI program or creating my own excel spread sheet to make this work. Any ideas how to fix this so I can print labels from the manager .csv file?

When opening Manager, run as administrator.

If vegetarians love animals so much, why are they eating all of their food?

@ Pepp77, the phones are Avaya 1416 not 16xxx. Thanks for trying tho. Do you have one for 1416? The real issue here is having to retype all of this info. I used to print all ext at once and it was really easy with no retyping.

YO just need to run MAnager and desi labeling as administrator.

I had the same issue

Good luck

I am running them as administrator. I spoke with DESI and they said that there new program has changed the format and that Avaya needs to update there software. I am guessing you are using an older version of DESI.

just go to desi.com and download the program, we also purchase the labels from desi and when printing labels just feed the desi sheets into the printer, works great!

They're just profiteering though, you can easily fit 5 or 6 times more labels on a sheet than they do :)

the phones we use come with a label sheet. the manager software used to allow you to print labels. Now it does not work. I have a latest version of manager and latest Desi software so ya. I will try to call desi again. software needs fixed. This is convenient or at least it was. I don't want to retype all the info from every program into a spread sheet.

Two simple solutions.

1. Standardise buttons so the labels are the same across all phones - then a quick cut and paste in my spreadsheet can get you 100 labels in under a minute.
2. Get your sales guys to only sell 95xx or 96xx handsets.

The second option is the better one! I convinced them to not sell 14xx/16xx phones anymore if not necessary to have a better price. So we only have about five smaller systems a year with paper labels. It was a long way...

But it's easy to calculate. Install the system, print labels, tell the end users how to use the phone, get feedback about their wishes how they want the phones labeled, program the buttons, start creating new labels again. Needs a lot more time than using 95xx/96xx and will cost the same amount of money.

@ derfloh, great advise, not really, but I'm not in charge of what the customer selects for the phones and your information does not help solve the problem. It's not even a work around. You simply pulled a porky pig. When he is stuttering and can't say the word he just picks a different one. But that is cartoons, not reality.

Sorry for telling you my personal opinion. I know that it is not the solution to your actual problem but you can argue to your sales guys for future customers.

I have no solution to your problem. But you can be sure Desi is no fun in non English speaking countries because manager always creates English labels.

Sorry again for hijacking your thread

You can creat any kind of labels manually dirctly into desy if that can help.they have all avaya phone model.

good luck

Well gee thanks JoConnex but if you read my post and here is the quote copied and pasted from original post...."I don't want to retype all the info from every program into a spread sheet." this would include retyping into DESI so thanks but I already knew that and that is NOT what I am looking for. There is no reason why this should not be taken care of by DESI or AVAYA. It is their software that no longer works when it did before!

You could always source an older version of the Desi programme, after you've picked your dummy up that is :)

There is no issue with Desi or Avaya, no one but you is having a problem. You were already given the correct answer of running Manager as Administrator. If its still not working then try it from a different PC.

@ TheIPOTek, You are correct and thank you for your post. I did not know that I was not running it as administrator. My old version of Manager must have been running that way and new version did not. I went into the settings for the manager software in windows and under advanced settings I was able to set it to always run as administrator, something I never had to do before and have been through several versions of manager. This is likely more of an issue with my lack of knowledge of windows than manager but thanks to you this works for me know. I will pass this on to the DESI company as they were not able to explain that this was the issue. Thanks again. Also thank you to JoConnex for correct solution and sorry that I missed this when you first posted. Hopefully will help any others that have this issue.
