Hi,

I have a report that has been merrily running on a schedule for at least 12 months with no issues whatsoever.

I'm been asked to modify the report slightly so i attempted to open it in Visual Studio 2003 only to recieve the following error message:

"...\visual studio projects\sales reports\Daily Sales - Invoiced.rdl(7591): Deserialization failed: The table "table1" has rows that contain a different number of cells than the number of the columns in the table (including cells that span more than one column)"

I've not opend this report in months and i am the only one who knows where it lives, let alone how and with what to modify it... anyone else had this problem and know how to get around it?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Leigh

Sure, if it has a microchip in it, it must be IT... Now what seems to be the problem with your toaster...?

I am having the same problem and wondering if it has something to do with recently installing Visual Studio 2005 although I am not using it yet. I am trying to modify a report using the 2003 dev enviroment when I get this same error that you mentioned.

Hi,

This is obviously an issue, but still little or no info available regarding a fix.

It appears to be caused when you copy merged cells and paste them elsewhere in the report.

The only other info i can find is here.

I'm in the process of upgrading to SQL Server 2005, which i understand upgrades Reporting Services and Visual Studio 2005. I'll keep you posted as to its affect.

Anymore info from anyone else?

Cheers,
Leigh

The problem with common sense is that it isn't that common!
