Hi

Of all things I'm just wanting to get my head round block size and factors affecting it's settings.

Does anyone have/know where I can find information onit? I know the basics of the fact that data is written to media in the specified block size.

I just want to understand the concept, why sometimes you have to change block size to 2kb for restores to work and other times 64kb is ok. What factors affect performance with block size. I know block size must be same for the restore as it was for the backup....but e.g.why soemtimes at 64kb backup works restore hangs after several hours, but fine on 2 KB.

What are the actual affects of making block size bigger/smaller? How's it affect the writing/

I know there's lots of questions asking the same thing but it's just so I can get over what I want to know.

Hope it makes sense and someone can help.
Thanks
