I seem to recall this conversation happening here in the past but I can't find it.
I'm looking for examples of flowery marketspeak / executive summary type language to describe what IT does to the layman. We've got a dozen pages of services, servers, infrastructure managed, etc. It's a good thing to have documented but it's also the kind of thing that cause most people to glaze over.
We're trying to prepare a 2-3 page summary to explain why the "expensive" IT Dept. is worth having at the non-techie level.
I've got phrases like "ensure easy, timely, reliable and secure access", "help employees to work efficiently and effectively", "make technology an asset", etc. I nee dto explain why a central phone system is better than a bunch of random phones. Why databases are better than a bunch of spreadsheets. etc. etc.
Anyone have good examples of this?
Jeff
