We have a few Unify IP35G phones with dead or non booting firmware, holding down the 3 button while powering on invokes the NetBoot.
We have DERT HFA V3 R0.18.0 which does not work. I believe these phones need a later firmware version. Where can I get a version of DERT HFA that will do these phones?

Same version as we have already, I believe the version we require is DERT HFA V3 R0.23.0 ?

HFA: V3 R0.16.0 / SIP: V3 R3.17.0 (Obsolete)
HFA: V3 R0.18.0 / SIP: V3 R3.17.0 (Obsolete)
HFA: V3 R0.18.0 / SIP: V3 R3.17.0 (Obsolete)
HFA: V3 R0.18.0 / SIP: V3 R3.17.0 / SIP ECO: V3 R3.33.0
The above are the DERT tools that are available.

HFA V3 R0.23.0 is a version of firmware that is available for the IP35G

Ok, so how do I use DERT to recover the IP35G ?

Im getting DHCP ok, FAILED netboot-legacey.sci

Follow the PDF documentation exactly.

Also start a wireshark trace to possibly assist

Do you have both DHCP and TFTP running??

Also, because of another question, is V3 R0.18.0 compatible with the IP35G?? That is the newest version there is.

Plus in the documentation you need to hand edit the IP address of whatever laptop or PC you are running DERT on to a specific network address or the phone won't be able to find it.

Yes we've used DERT before on other OpenStage phones

Since found out that an ex employee has done these IP35G before. Documentation found but cant find the DERT version used.

says that netboot-we2.sci was used in the ini file instead of netboot-legacy.sci for HinetLP2100
but there is no netboot-we2.sci

where can we get this netboot file

I only have access to what I can get on the GSI portal and I find no references to being able to get Netboot firmware on there. I would assume the most likely to work version of DERT is the one we have on here. I don't have any of those new phones to play with. Sorry.

OK, DERT 0V1R0.2.0 HFA V3 R0.18.0states that it supports the 35G eco when you install DERT, but fails to load the netboot-legacey.sci

I commented in your other thread too. Do you have another phone you can try??

There is one other thing that I can think of, and this is really grasping at straws, but also in the same release notes there is a phone compatability chart. It will tell you what HARDWARE release of the phone is compatible with that software. The new fancy phones were kind of a halfbreed in the 4K world. They had me set on the Openstage phones that I don't really like through the sales process, but then I found out the new phones were supposed to be compatible with the 4K after a software version upgrade - I tried to stall but I couldn't...

Point of the long story is if that phone was among the first few when they were released it may be that the SOFTWARE is compatible with that phone model, but not with that specific release of the hardware.

Just another straw for you to grasp at on the way to the answer....

No, only the one phone, which has now gone back unrepaired, will wait till I get some more in to try
