Deprovisioning Agent Licences on Symposium Rls 5.0

Deprovisioning Agent Licences from doner Symposium Rls 5.0 to receiver Symposium Rls 5.0. We were only to be told that all Agent data would be lost as the server would be wiped clean???

Why can't a backup be performed prior to deprovisioning the licences with a reload of that data once deprovisioning has taken place?

What am I missing?

nortels greed.. they will not let you reuse those, it is possible from a software side, but nortels gets paid.. or we don't get to play.. i don't like that side of it either
