Hi,
I’m trying to depreciate an asset to period 02/2010 which last depreciation period was 08/2009 in A/M 5.5B SP1.
The asset was set inactive in 2009 and has now been re-activated in 2010.
The depreciation projection works fine for periods from 09/2009 to 02/2010 however the actual depreciation finishes with an error. None of the errors actually apply to the asset.

Would anyone know how I have to run depreciation for that asset?

Norming reckons to update the last depreciation period to 2010-00

This doesn't update depreciation ammounts though plus I get an error that my asset doesn't exist for 2010.
That's obviously because no year end has been done.

Was hoping there is a better way of doing this.

Yeah Norming Assets is fickle.
What is you sell/scrap that asset and then add it back as an existing asset with the correct depreciation and adjust your GL?

Ah...yeah...I can test that as well.
What would be a better alternative to Norming?

Stick with Norming, even with its flaws it is still better than the alternatives.
