Deploying war file and exploding it in WLS 7.0

Hi,
I would like to know whether deploying a war in Weblogic 7.0 would explode/unpack the war file on its own.For example, a war file placed under webapps in tomcat , automatically unpacks it when tomcat is restarted.Does anything like that happen with WLS 7.0 ?If yes,how can I do it?

Any help is appreciated.
