Deploying Query Studio in Production

We are planning on allowing a small group of users to use Cognos 8.4 Query Studio within the Production environment. Good Idea or bad idea? If it is acceptable, are there certain settings that have to be done to ensure that the use of this tool will not affect the current environment?

I do have another environment that can be used and then the reports would be migrated like we do with RS reports.

I am looking for advice and best practices.

What exactly are you afraid of? Performance issues? Are these users otherwise not workng with Cognos? QS is mainly about drawing and sorting simple lists. If your model is well build I do not forsee big issues
